Protests hit New York City on Wednesday, November 4, a day after the US presidential election. On Tuesday Americans took to the polling stations to choose between the incumbent president Donald Trump and his Democratic rival, former Vice-President Joe Biden. The results in many major states are yet to be announced, with Trump so far winning Florida, Texas and Iowa and Biden claiming victory in Minnesota, New Hampshire and Arizona. Speaking on Tuesday night Trump called the election results a "fraud" and said he would be going to the U.S. Supreme Court over them. Biden called these calls "outrageous" and said his legal team was on standby to prevent this.
